A few weeks ago, we reported the release of the Big East portion of Georgetown’s men’s basketball schedule.

Today, the university released the remaining slate, though there were no real surprises left.  The season gets underway on Monday, Nov. 17 against Jacksonville.  The following Saturday, the Hoyas oppose Drexel, also at home, before heading to Orlando for the Old Spice Classis.

Other non-conference bouts include: American on Dec. 6 at home, Savannah State Dec. 8, Memphis Dec. 13, Mt. St. Mary’s  Dec. 20 and Florida International Dec. 23.

The big news of today’s announcement is that there is no game scheduled for McDonough Gymnasium, as there had been in years past.  Hopefully we’ll have a comment from John Thompson III on that and more by Friday’s issue.

Lastly, it is interesting to note that Georgetown plays just one TRUE non-conference road game, though it is a doozy, Jan.  17 at Duke.  By then, they’ll already have played in the Old Spice tourney, at Connecticut and at Notre Dame.
