Notre Dame’s Luke Harangody has elected to return to school for his senior year. The Fighting Irish star waited until the very last moment to opt out of the NBA draft, deciding an hour before Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline. Harangody has averaged over 20 points the lsat two seasons, and he will have a chance to become a Notre Dame legend and win another Big East player of the year award during his senior year. Harangody, a prolific college scorer who is considered small for the NBA, had a shot at being taken in the first round of the draft.

Georgetown’s star center and Big East rookie of the year Greg Monroe thrilled Hoya fans when he decided to return for his sophomore year. If Monroe has any hope of taking home the league player of the year hardware, he better lead Georgetown to a better Big East finish than Notre Dame—Harangody could score as many as 10 points per game more than Monroe. West Virginia forward Da’Sean Butler, who averaged over 17 points per game last year, is another early favorite for the honor.
