The Holiday Season is a time for giving.

The schedule makers gave Georgetown a week off to prepare for its Big East opener against St. John’s on Thursday evening. Cincinnati upset UConn, giving the Hoyas an early leg up on a team picked ahead of them in the preseason poll.

Still, there is one package left unopened under the tree with John Thompson III’s name. It is gift from his bench players, and everyone is eager to see if it contains reliable production or just a lump of coal.
